Features of Woodridge® Plantation
Shutters
Materials--Using only the finest wood and wood composites available,
we are continually striving to improve our products from conception
to completion.
Panel Frames--Many manufacturers use top and bottom rails
which are much thinner than the side stiles. Not only does
this practice cheapen and degrade the beauty of the shutter, it can
compromise the structural integrity of the overall unit. Our
stiles and rails are the same 1 1/4" thickness. This
consistent framework dimensioning creates a healthy and rich looking
panel and allows less light bleed through along the top rail than
other shutters
Joints--Some shutters have dowels connecting the stiles and
rails, and some use biscuits. We capitalize on the strengths
of both. Our mortise and tenon joints provide increased glue
surface and prevent lateral movement, while #8-3" screws form a
permanent clamp and help avoid racking or vertical distortion.
Sanding and Finishing--All of our components are sanded in
every visible area including ends of louvers and all back surfaces.
We then prime and sand all of our parts before assembly--most unique
n the shutter industry. This process helps eliminate overspray
and shadowing inside the stiles. Our cab-acrylic clear finish
is non-yellowing and produces a furniture-grade surface which
reduces dust build up and makes cleaning easier.
Installation--Woodridge® shutters are not hung on existing
window jambs or returns. We include our own attractive,
functional framework adaptable to your situation, or we can provide
the jambs and/or casing on new construction. Result: Our
shutters can be aligned in any window eliminating unsightly tight
spots or wide gaps between the panel and window opening. We
take great pride in our product, so it only makes sense that we
create superior installation designs and procedures. And
finally, since our panels are pre-hung in our frames, installation
time is quick and clean.
